Justice Action

Our November justice action offers education on how mental illness and violence intersect, particularly in the lives of women. We invite you to join us on our journey toward justice as we commit to see with new eyes what is happening in our world, to pray for God’s wisdom and guidance, and to act.

Exploring Intersections: Catholic Sisters on Racism, Migration and Climate

Join Catholic Sisters for a yearlong, monthly conversation series “Exploring Intersections: Catholic Sisters on Racism, Migration and Climate.” Each month, panelists will explore a social issue and how it intersects with racism, migration and climate in a thought-provoking and engaging conversation. January 12 will focus on Education Justice.

Sister Paula Schwendinger Shares Border Experiences

In mid-June, Sister Paula Schwendinger travelled to Laredo to offer her gifts of fluency in Spanish and a love for immigrants. She met families who had made their way to the border through South and Central America. While she was in Texas, each day she posted some of the stories she heard from families at the center. She documented these experiences in her latest book.

In Memory of Sister Ellen Mary Garrett

November 11, 1943 – September 23, 2021
With great sadness, we say goodbye to Sister Ellen Mary Garrett. She will be deeply missed. There will be a welcome and vigil service on Wednesday, September 29, at 9:30 a.m., in Sacred Heart Chapel, Sisters of the Presentation, and a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. COVID safety measures will be in effect.
