2014 Associate Partnership Commitments
August 21, 2014
Welcome, Judy, Jim, Diane and Doris! May your lives and ministries be enriched and supported through your participation in the Presentation Associate Partnership!
On August 21, 2014 four newly-committed associates, Judy and Jim Kluesner, Diane McDermott and Doris Weigman, joined 127 other women and men Presentation associates in identifying with the Presentation mission of being “called to evangelize, offering hope and love to a broken world by incarnating the hospitality of God, confronting injustice and working for peace.”
These new associates have been meeting over the past year with mentors, Sister Rita Cameron and Associate Linda Dolphin, to study and reflect upon Presentation life and history, prayer and community, charism and mission. The orientation process has offered each an opportunity to grow in faith as they have been immersed in the spirituality of Presentation foundress, Nano Nagle. They shared in community with sisters and associates and discerned how they might live out the Presentation mission and directional statement in their lives.
Both Sister Rita and Linda have found their experience in facilitating this orientation group to be a life-giving privilege. “It has been a joy to witness the desire to serve that is present in these new associates,” says Sister Rita. Linda adds, “Each one will embody the Presentation charism of hospitality in their own unique and wonderful ways.”
Welcome, Donna and Joann! May your lives and ministries be enriched and supported through your participation in the Presentation Associate Partnership!
On September 6, 2014, gathering with sisters, associates, family and friends, Donna Ewy and Joann Gullickson made their initial commitment to the PBVM Associate Partnership as they proclaimed their commitment to the Presentation mission of being “called to evangelize, offering hope and love to a broken world by incarnating the hospitality of God, confronting injustice and working for peace.”
Over the past year and a half these new associates have been gathering regularly to pray, study, share and reflect on Presentation heritage, charism, mission and community. Sr. Lynn Fangman and the members of the Nano’s Nine Associate Group guided Joann Gullickson through the orientation process and Donna Ewy was mentored by associate, Billie Greenwood.
Reflecting on their commitment as PBVM associates both Donna and Joann expressed their desire to share in the PBVM mission. “The spirit of Nano resonates with me. It just makes sense to have a connection with others who share that,” noted Donna. Echoing this sentiment, Joann said, “Last summer I visited La Luz Hispana with the Nano’s Nine associate group and immediately felt a sense of sisterhood, joy and peace with them. I knew this was something I wanted to be part of. I am ready to share in the Presentation mission and all that it encompasses.”
